Sessions for 2011

Theme: The Struggle between Fear and Faith
based on Mark 9:24: "Lord I believe, help my unbelief"

The Lord tells us that His thoughts are higher than ours. How comforting this is! We want a God larger than life, larger than us. As sinners, we run into the following problems:

Sometimes challenges in life lead us to question the Lord and our faith. This can be a threat or a catalyst to what we believe and to our relationship with the Lord. Our prayer is that He will use the 2011 retreat to build the right kind of fear and strengthen the faith of each attendee!

Studies and worship will focus on Mark 9:24, "Lord, I believe, help my unbelief." We will look at breaking down supposed Biblical contradictions through studying areas of Scripture that are often confused. Attendees are encouraged but not required to submit specific areas of struggle on their registration form. We will also be having several attendees speak to their personal struggles between fear and faith while working through challenging times in their lives.

Pastor Luke Bernthal and Pastor Mike Gurath will be our main speakers along with chaplain Eli Wales. Several attendees will also be sharing their personal stories to guide our studies and encourage us.

Please arrive between 4:00 and 6:00 pm to register and get settled in to your cabin. Supper will be served from 6:00 - 6:30 pm. Opening session will begin at 7:00 pm. Announcements and ice breaker activities will follow. Please, if you are planning on arriving later than 6:00 pm, let us know prior to Wednesday, 6/8/11! Cell phone reception at Camp JIM is available, but not in all locations!
